What does a live wedding painter do?
A live wedding painter comes to your wedding and works on one canvas to create a finished painting of your wedding in real time.
What happens on the day?
I will arrive early to set up, take reference photos, and get going on the background before any guests arrive. Depending on what scene we've agreed I should paint, I will take more photos when that moment happens. After that, I will paint for the agreed number of hours to create a beautiful piece of art. At the end of the day, I take the painting back to my studio to add the finishing touches and make sure it's ready to be displayed!
Will we discuss details beforehand?
Yes! Before your wedding, we will discuss my location, what I need (e.g. a table and plug socket), and the scene you want me to paint. Chatting in advance avoids surprises on the big day.
Can guests talk to you while you paint?
Absolutely! Part of the joy of having a live wedding painter is that guests can not only watch magic being created, but also ask questions and chat. I love hearing what people think of my painting! Often, guests have never seen a live wedding painter before... which adds to the fun!
